Place the Infinite Attic Saddles over the attic roof trusses as shown. The distance between the Saddles should never exceed 18 inches. Adjust as necessary to avoid the truss connections that interfere with placement.

[HINT] Mark the 18 inch spacing on the 2"x2"x8' rails starting 3 inches from each end. Use this rail in the attic as a guide to locate the Saddles while avoiding the truss connections and maintaining the 18” spacing. A minimum of 6 Saddles are required for each 8’ long rail.

2 Place the 2x2x 8’ rails in the Infinite Attic Saddles as shown. The rails must extend 3" beyond all end saddles; abutting rail ends should never share a single saddle. The lumber should be free of warpage and should sit soundly inside each Saddle. (Figure 2)

Measure the distance between the attic roof trusses and subtract 3⁄4” from the span to determine the plywood width (Note: This width should never exceed 24".). Be sure to measure each span since distances can vary between trusses.

Cut a 4’x 8’x 19/32” sheet of plywood in the short direction as shown. Do not cut the plywood lengthwise because the plywood does not have the required strength if cut in the long direction.

Attach the plywood to the 2x2 rails at each Infinite Attic Saddle location using either size 6D nails or #8, 1 1⁄4” long screws.
